An important and timely exposé, GASLAND, reveals the practices of the largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history. Developed by Halliburton, “Hydraulic Fracturing,” or "fracking," has swept across the United States, opening up new territory in 34 states to extensive drilling, including the Marcellus Shale, a vast formation that underlies most of New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the New York watershed and the Catskills/Poconos. A Q&A with director Josh Fox and Congressman Maurice Hinchey will follow the screening. Visit: www.gaslandthemovie.com.

From Sue Rosenberg:
This is a powerful and important film. The issue of natural gas drilling is vitally important and in our backyard. It is certainly not something we can ignore. Already people are talking about natural gas as the "clean answer" to the problems with oil and coal. If you can, go see this movie and let’s start talking about how we can stop "fracking" in our area. Here's an opportunity to see an excellent film and to hear from the director and Congressman Maurice Hinchey.

See UCDW's resource page on Fracking to get more information.
